Who We Are

Donia’s Tunisian Sweets is a start-up online

bakery shop that sells traditional Tunisian hilou, for those

who love to share and crave the taste of ‘Tunisia’ with

family and friends within the U.K. Founded in 2020 by mother (Donia) and daughter (Siwar) our company initially started from family

traditions and their passion for baking,

From a really young age, Donia (owner and baker) grew up in a home that shares the same passion and values of baking traditional Tunisian pastries. Her drive and enthusiasm of lovingly sharing and introducing others of Tunisian Culture from one bite of Baklawa or Sablee was her main value and mission because it brings people together as well as introducing them to our beautiful culture and traditional heritage.

Authentic, Traditional & Home-made

Our sweets are all hand and home made by the best Tunisian artisan, Donia. She applies her skills and experience when baking as a result of achieving the most delightful traditional sweets. Each piece is delicately made and  handcrafted with precision and delivered to you with care. Our ingredients are picked of the highest quality and all of our nuts are hand-picked by our own artisans. We use natural honey for a better taste and we add flower water to engage every single one of your senses.

Our Heritage, Culture & Traditions

Making our Sweets greatly involves delicate hands and excellent craftmanship in the making. After all, it only took a couple of centuries and a lot of cultural influences in order to reach this level of deliciousness. These treats are extremely sophisticated thanks to Tunisia’s vibrant multicultural history. The stuffing techniques were inherited from the moors of Spain. The use of almond was influenced by the berbers of North Africa while the use of pistachio came from the Middle East. The refinement in making these delicacies came from the French and the Italians who lived among Tunisians in the last century. Every bite is a marriage of the best of what the Mediterranean has to offer.
